Allison and Aaron first met while working at Lowe’s in Charlottesville, where they quickly became work buddies during the height of Covid. One day, Aaron helped Allison move a bed (the perk of having a friend with a pickup truck), and somewhere between the heavy lifting and laughter, sparks started to fly.
Fast forward four years: Aaron (out of character) suggested a trip to the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, a place Allison had been wanting to visit since they moved to Richmond two years earlier (which probably should’ve been her first clue something was up). On a rainy April day, surrounded by spring blooms and tucked under a pagoda, Aaron proposed. If you’d like the “official” version of events, ask Allison. If you’d prefer the “cinematic” version, ask Aaron: he’ll happily tell you she said no before saying yes.
Over the past five years (almost six when they see you in May!), they’ve grown together and as individuals. They’re hopeful to buy their first home in 2026. Aaron is getting serious about golf, and Allison is excited to spend more time reading and writing for pleasure now that grad school is behind her. They hope to adopt a new little sibling for Ansel and Mister.
Most of all, they can’t wait to celebrate the beginning of this next chapter surrounded by their family and friends.
